Over my years as an artist and designer, I have gained experience in many facets of the creative industry. Please browse this section of my site to see examples of services I currently offer.

Web Design

I have over 13 years experience in web design. I currently specialize in helping small businesses set up web sites that they can easily update themselves without any technical skills. I can help you set up a shopping cart, web blog, photo gallery, group calendar or pod casts. I also specialize in search optimization. I am the designer of this site as well as the other sites shown below:

Global Health Leadership Forum:

Global Health Leadership Forum

I designed this site for the Global Health Leadership Forum, Department of Health, Cal Berkeley

My clients wanted lots of pictures to show the highlights of all their program has to offer. I designed this website in Dreamweaver and my clients will be doing the updates in that program as well.

Bella Ceramica Shopping Cart Site

Bella Ceramica is a beautiful store on Piedmont Ave in Oakland. Claudio needed a site that was easy to connect to all the shopping cart features that a good online store should offer. The Quick Shopping Cart Solution and customization of the templates and navigation by Sherry provided this business with all the bells and whistles that the big sites have.

Tootsies Shoes

Tootsies Shoes needed a site they could update themselves. They also wanted an online store. I am setting up the templates and then teaching them how to keep their site current using website tonight. I also help them with strategies such as search optimization and how to go back and forth from their site to their store and keep the shopper happy. Tootsies now uses their site for special promotions, sales, parties etc. that change frequently.

Kinetic Chain Sport

Kinetic Chain Sports already had a logo and they knew they wanted a very punchy showy site. To accomplish this, I designed flash movies to show off their well known clients. Tammy Marquez and Monte Spicer are the owners of Kinetic Chain. The design of the site reflects their energy and enthusiasm to help people “stay in the game.” I try very hard to design to the personality of the client’s business and branding.

These owners spend so much time at the gym that I also do their updates for them.

Neurofeedback foundation

Neurofeedback Foundation The client for this site is a non profit organization. They needed economical hosting with options to update their own site. They have no people on staff trained to do that so I offered the Website Tonight® solution. I set up their new site in the Website Tonight template designer, created all of the art and turned the site over to them for updating. Website Tonight® allows users to edit pages on their site through a browser based edit tool. No technical skill or web design software are needed. The customer can update their site from any computer that is connected to the web. My favorite part about this solution is the helpful, 24/7 tech support from friendly knowledgeable people. I have never called tech support without a resolution to my problem.

Pilates Plus

Pilates Plus on College

This pilates studio runs many classes and needed to frequently update the times and dates.

I customized the templates to their already established logos and colors. I personally tutored the two women who will be updating the site on how to use the Website Tonight® tool. Now they are off and running their own site updates.

HMOA Inc.

Hayward Mobilehome Owners Assoc., Inc

This community of mobilehome owners in California needed a way to update their website more frequently. They post meeting times and locations, alerts for their members, and other useful state and city information.

After just one hour of tutoring over the phone while my client looked at her new Website Tonight® tool, she was able to update the site herself. She will also be able to let others work on the site. She also found the tech support very polite and helpful. Best of all, tech support is free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
My client fell in love with my sunset photos so I used one in her site design. I am frequently able to supply my clients with my own photographs of the bay area.

Sesa Woruban

Paula Stanfield was running a one woman physical fitness business when I created branding and naming for her. I listened to her describe what her business was about and what her goals were for her web site. Then I set out find a name, create the logo and graphics that all come together into branding and a look and feel for her site. After setting up the site and it's user interface I turned it over to Paula.

Her business has grown, as has her web site. Paula keeps an active blog on tips for mental and physical fitness. She also keeps her site updated with the Website Tonight® tool. Paula had no technical computer skills before taking on this endeavor and she has found it very manageable after just a little coaching from me after the site was designed.

California HR

California People

This is a website that I created from the ground up for California Kaiser Permanente Human Resources. This site was extremely complex, and had to fulfill requirements for many different groups and unions. I conducted meetings and interviews to gather the site requirements. I designed the site’s architecture, navigation and its look and feel. I conducted usability testing on the site. The navigation and site architecture served them for years until more dynamic, data based sites became the norm for such complex demands.

Optimizing images for Web Viewing Using Macromedia Fireworks

Optimizing images for Web Viewing Using Macromedia Fireworks
This web based tutorial takes personal web users, corporate web users, or students through the necessary steps required to process a digital image into web ready format using Macromedia Fireworks. It is an example of a "just in time” module which enables the user to learn just enough about the software program to achieve the required goal without the need to learn the entire program.

The Elephant Unit

The Elephant Interactive Unit for Kindergarten was designed to help kindergarten children learn the information required to pass California Sate Standards for Life Sciences: http://scorescience.humboldt.k12.ca.us/fast/teachers/content/kdg.htm.

Different types of plants and animals inhabit the Earth. As a basis for understanding this concept, students know:

  1. how to observe and describe similarities and differences in the appearance and behavior of plants and of animals (e.g., seed-bearing plants, birds, fish, insects).
  2. stories sometimes give plants and animals attributes they do not really have
  3. how to identify major structures of common plants and animals (e.g., stems, leaves, roots, arms, wings, legs).
